The Original Escape is a full 25 ½” scale acoustic/electric travel guitar equipped with a headphone preamp. The Original Escape’s custom Shadow piezo pickup & EQ system sounds great through headphones or an amplifier, and its compact body shape and full-scale neck have made it one of our most enduring models. Includes gig bag and fits in airline overhead compartments.

Q: Are special strings needed for the Escape guitar?
A: No, any conventional guitar strings you choose will work. The Escape comes equipped with D’Addario EJ15 Phosphor Bronze Round Wound Extra Light Acoustic Strings.

Q: Can I place a strap on my guitar?
A: Yes, the Escape is equipped with two standard strap pins.

Q: Does the guitar have a truss-rod?
A: Yes, the Escape has a fully adjustable truss rod, with easy access through the endcap.

Q: Like the Traveler Pro Series, does the Escape have “Stethophones” or any personal listening device?
A: The Escape is equipped with a preamp that doubles as a headphone amplifier. Use a 1/4" to mini-plug (1/8”) adapter to plug in your headphones. You can switch from headphone to amp mode and control volume, treble, and bass from the preamp. NOTE: unplug your guitar when not in use to avoid draining battery power.

Q: Are Batteries needed to operate the headphones?
A: Yes, the preamp/headphone amp is powered by a 9-volt battery.

Q: Can the Escape plug into any of my amps?
A: Yes, the Escape has a standard 1/4” output jack for plugging into an amp.

Q: Is the body and neck a solid piece of wood?
A: No, the Traveler Escape’s body is alder, with a maple bolt on neck.

Q: What kinds of pick-ups are installed in the Escape?
A: The Escape comes with a Shadow, under the saddle, acoustic piezo pick-up.

Q: What kind of warranty does The Escape have?
A: The Escape comes with a three year limited warranty.
